Wilderness No More

Updated: Aug 27, 2019

God is still God in the Wilderness.

I can't help but be grateful for a God who continues to speak. He is near to those who seek His face. I was supporting a loved one on a monumental milestone when the Lord shared that He would make a way in the desert. He also said that what He does, no man understands. I'm usually guilty of trying to figure out His ways and my path in all that.

I'm a certified Life Coach. I find it comical to be in a place where I am so reliant on the Lord for decisions. It seems like an incongruent place with coaching. My will is yielded to His. I bend my knees at His throne. The one new thing is that there is a song in my heart. My mourning has turned into dancing.

The Lord is present and speaking about new seasons. Though I know in my head that there is always hope. My heart is filled with hope again. Taking my Heavenly Father by the hand, I dare to dream. I dare to see possibilities. The dry desert place ceases to parch my soul. God walks us through the floods, through the fire, and even through the barenness of the desert.

As long as He is in the midst of wherever we are, we can be at peace knowing that today is the day that the Lord has made. We should rejoice and be glad in it. I'm reminded of being with good company. The weather and the environment fade into the background because I'm having a great time with my company. So it is when you commune with the Lord. Even a desert place can lose it's drab, harsh edge in the presence of the One who created it.

No matter what difficult circumstance you're facing today, He is there to turn your mourning into gladness and wipe away your tears. Never lose hope when you feel like you're lost and wandering through life. He hasn't lost sight of you.
